"My approach is patient-centered, supportive, and collaborative. When a patient or their loved one come to see me, I bear in mind the difficulty it is for some to discuss their innermost thoughts, feelings, or issues with a stranger. I ensure a confidential, safe, and warm environment for my patients. My goal is to meet you where you are in your journey and help you to move forward. After a thorough psychiatric evaluation, I will give my recommendations for treatment and we will develop a plan, together. As I believe in prevention, I will gather data on your psychiatric history, lifestyle (diet, exercise, and sleep patterns), medical, trauma, and social history in order to get to know you. We will discuss your current psychiatric symptoms, explore general medical conditions that could be linked to your mental health issues, and focus on any noted nutritional deficiencies. I use evidence-based treatments that include a combination of medication, appropriate lifestyle changes such as diet modification, physical activity, sleep management, and supplementation with vitamins and/or minerals. In order to promote patient empowerment, I focus heavily on teaching patients ways to reduce their depression/anxiety and to increase their focus/motivation in order to reach goals and move towards a life they desire. I very much look forward to meeting you.”
Patients who have worked with Dr. Smith describe her as compassionate, kind, thorough, knowledgeable, warm, and accessible. Dr. Smith is now accepting new patients and follow-up appointments virtually and in-person in Washington state.
